Sarah Emanuel, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Sugar Loaf Mental Wellness, LCSW, PLLC, based in New York. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Sarah offers compassionate, evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, and families navigating life’s most difficult challenges.

Sarah earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in Manhattan, graduating at the top of her class in 2010. She specializes in treating addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and marital concerns, prenatal/postpartum issues, infertility, infant sleep challenges, and family conflict.

  • Provided therapy for adjudicated youth with a history of problematic sexual behaviors

  • Completed fieldwork at a middle school in the Bronx and an LGBTQ high school in Manhattan

  • Served as a Multisystemic Treatment (MST) therapist doing in-home therapy across the Bronx and Westchester

  • Later became a clinical supervisor and therapist for a homeless youth program in Westchester, NY

Shoshi D., born on December 17, 2017, is a sweet and gentle English Springer Spaniel who is a certified therapy dog. Shoshi plays an essential role in providing emotional support and animal-assisted therapy to people of all ages, bringing comfort, connection, and calm wherever she goes.

Shoshi visits a variety of settings, including:

  • Children’s hospitals

  • Libraries

  • VA medical centers

  • Hospice care facilities

In each of these environments, Shoshi offers emotional comfort and companionship to individuals facing chronic illness, serious medical conditions, or end-of-life care, helping reduce stress, ease anxiety, and improve overall well-being.
